MY STORY:

To say Chris has lived an active lifestyle would be a HUGE understatement. Chris officially started running while in high school in 1970. Back then he was glad just to make Varsity. Since then he ran for his university (SIU-C) for a while, before he thought those people were too serious. While running in Dallas, Chris began to achieve even greater success completing his first marathon (2:43) in Chicago in 1986, and then Boston (2:35) in 1987.

Chris began his venture into multi-sport events in the early 80’s to expand his physical fitness. In 1988, he completed his first Ironman triathlon finishing 23rd overall in 10 hours, 0 minutes, 52 seconds. Then in 1991,he ran a 2:27 marathon at Houston, and set about qualifying for the Olympics.

Some of Chris’ proudest achievements include earning All-American status five consecutive years, and have represented the U.S. twice in two sports (half marathon and duathlons). Winning the Overall Runner in the Dallas Crosson-Dannis Series in 1996 as a 40 year old; climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2000, 5th Masters category athlete in the US in 2001. And was nominated as Master’s Road Runner of the Year by The Dallas Runner’s Club in 2007.

As if Chris hasn’t accomplished enough he currently is the coach for Dallas’ oldest track workouts (TNT-Tuesday Night Track, 20+ years) and publishes The Phast Times News, a Dallas monthly dedicated to local swimming, biking, and running.
