MY STORY:
Pete has been the athletic type since he was 10 years old. He has dabbled in everything from crew to rugby. He even tried out for the Arena Pro Football League. After realizing that this was not the course he wanted to take, he hung up his cleats and looked for something new. That something new was endurance running. Primarily, Pete only ran in his local gym until his friend signed him up for the turkey Trot 5k. Like most runners, crossing that finish line was enough to drive his desire to race again. After that, Pete began racing in triathlons but found that his running leg of the race was his weakest. To remedy this, he took a year off from triathlons and only ran running races. He has not gone back ever since. Pete is now an avid ultra runner.
His passion for racing comes from his personal “dark days”. After Pete married his high school sweetheart, they had a child in 2001. Tragically, their baby died of S.I.D.S. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Training became a relief for his grief and has been dedicated to it ever since. Pete is now trying to organize a charity race in his community to help raise funds and awareness of S.I.D.S.
