MY STORY:

Barry’s been a runner most of his life, from Jr. High to College. After College, Barry took a break then was on and off for several years. In 2003 he and his family moved to the New England area and joined a local running club where he rekindled his running career, finally running a couple of marathons (which he never thought he would do). His best finish thus far was at the Bay State Marathon where he placed 3rd with a time of 2:45.

In July of 2006 Barry suffered a setback when he twisted his ankle while running... anxious to keep in shape he started to cross train on the bike and got hooked up with some people from his running team that had converted to triathlons. In September of '06 he entered a Sprint Tri and loved it! Since then Barry has been focused completely on triathlons, he entered 3 half-ironman distance tri’s and did well in all 3. In fact, in 2 of the 3, he was first in his age group and even qualified to be a member of Team USA for the Long Course World Championships in Lorient, France and for the HalfMax Nathional Championships. Being new to triathloning... Barry never realized how expensive it is, “these opportunities are great... but you still have to pay to register and pay for the trip…Maybe next year.”
