MY STORY:

Nathan was born and raised in Manitou Springs, Colorado, which is located at the base of Pikes Peak. He has 4 brothers and 3 sisters. In high school he played football, wrestled, & ran track where he helped win a state championship in football and in track and also placed 4th in state in wrestling. Needless to say, Nathan has always been at an athlete! Nathan later graduated from BYU with a degree in Business Management and now works for Verizon Business. He currently is married with 4 kids ages 8, 6, 4, & 18 months. Throughout his endurance career Nathan has competed in mountain bike racing, road cycling, track cycling, road running, trail running, triathlons, and duathlons. In his spare time Nathan also officiates high school and semi-pro football and high school lacrosse.

Nathan’s explains his favorite racing experience: “2004 Mountain States Cup Tour of Canyonlands XC race at Moab. About a mile into the race I took the lead and got a gap on all the other racers. I kept that gap until about the halfway point in the race when a thorn flattened my front tire. I almost broke down and cried while almost all the other racers passed me. Once the flat was fixed I figured I had nothing to loose so I decided to give it everything I had. One by one I caught and passed other riders all the way to the finish line. I figured if I was lucky maybe I got back into the top 5. When the results were posted I found out I had won having caught and passed the lead rider just a quarter mile from the finish!”
