The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States with just over 6.1 million people. Dallas was founded in 1841 and formally incorporated as a city in 1856. If running of cycling in the hills is your preferred method to train then the Dallas-Fort Worth area is not for you as it hosts a predominately flat topography, with elevations ranging between 450 - 550 feet. With hot and humid summers and generally mild winters, this region provides almost year round training in a variety of different terrains and temperature levels.
With over 406 parks sitting on 21,000 acres and the state's first and largest Zoo, the Dallas-Fort Worth area has endless activities for all to enjoy when heading to the outdoors.
