My Story
First off Janet wants everyone to know that she is a proud mother
of two wonderful kids. Christopher is 15 and a sophomore in high school where
he is on the golf and cross country team. Just recently Christopher competed
in his first half marathon and placed third in his age group, good job Christopher!
Janet’s daughter is 11 and is also a fantastic student. She's in the
sixth grade and has been a competitive gymnast for the past two years. Last
year she took first all around in the state meet! In her free time when Janet’s
not training for a swim or a run she loves to travel, and has been fortunate
enough to travel to Europe, Asia, and much of the United States. She likes
to stress the importance to expose her children to different places and cultures
and is truly blessed to be able to do so.
As if her life isn’t interesting enough Janet is also a primate enthusiast
and traveled to Borneo, Indonesia in 1995 to spend three weeks studying Orangutans
in the wild. She considers it one of the highlights of her life thus far. As
far as her favorite racing experience Janet says, “I loved the two Alcatraz
swims that I completed last summer. It was such a feeling of accomplishment
completing my first two open water swims, and the calmness that overcame me
during the swims was almost inexplicable.” Keep up the good work Janet
and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish this season!
