MY STORY:

Chris started running when he was a 9th grader in high school. He was referred to Cross Country by his father who had run for one year as an undergraduate. He and his family thought it would help Chris with some of the social challenges he faced at the time. During his time in high school Chris went from being almost the worst runner as a 9th grader to a Pennsylvania Cross Country State Qualifier as a senior. In college, Chris ran recreationally and completed his first marathon in 1999, a year after he was married. During the next couple of years Chris focused on road running and marathons. He completed his first ultramarathon trail run in the fall of 2005 and fell in love with every aspect of the race. Since then he has competed 12 ultramarathons, 3 marathons, and many 9 - 20 mile trail races.

Running has been an integral part of Chris’ life and something he hopes to be able to do for the rest of his life. Chris is supported by his loving family of five. They help him in every way possible to pursue his running dreams. His father and family have given him one of the greatest gifts he will ever receive - the gift of running.
